Damn
The
rise of a music terrorist.
The video is set in three time periods: The past,
present and the future.
The Storyline: Sean tries to get into the music business, but certain
elements within the music and media industry are bent on destroying his
career by not allowing him into their world. He decides to go underground
and use all his resources to destroy these elements, who are holding him
back, with one brutal attack on Musicville, the home of the music industry.
He then proceeds to take over the airwaves. With this video he is saying,
"You messed with the wrong guy!"
The video is set in three time periods: The past,
present and the future.
The Past: Sean arrives at the gates of Musicville
with his demo CD, hoping to get in. He spots Alicia Keys approaching in
her flashy car, gives her CD gatepass to security, who promptly allow
her to drive through. On seeing this, Sean hands his CD to the two bouncer-looking
security guards, but they refuse him permission to enter. He spots a black
entertainer in Zulu clothing (representative of other marginalised indigenous
music) trying to get in as well, but he is chased away too. In desperation,
the entertainer begs him for some small change, like a beggar would. Sean
tells him that he is also broke since he had just completed his album.
He makes several attempts to get in, but they get the instruction, via
cellphone, from The Boss to remove him by force. They severely beat him
and leave him for dead in a veld.
The Present:
Sean is woken up by his guardian angel, the entertainer, dazed and confused
and in a bloody state. The entertainer offers him a drink of water and
he proceeds to get up with great difficulty. He then starts walking. The
entertainer hands him a map to a secret location, where he would find
help in launching a revenge attack.
The Future:
This features the planned attack on the Musicville. These include the
helicopter scenes of mobilization, attack, and securing the control of
Sentech's Aukland Park broadcast tower.
While the helicopters bomb overhead, Sean arrives with a tank and two
of his ground troops. They kill the security guards, blast open the gate
and proceed into the complex on a seek-and-destroy mission. Sean kicks
open a door and finds The Boss in a meeting with record companies and
media executives, who are annihilalated for their co-ordinated attempt
to sabotage his career
